what's in a name?

As you can see in the left column my name is Ruiter- Oude Elferink.

The first name derives from my marriage with my late husband Pieter, hence the"horserider" on top of my blog. The second- double- part is my maiden name, and again you'll find the literally translation on top of the blog" the elf-circle". I skipped the translation of the word "oud" which means "old". The circle might be old, the elves are certainly not.
On the other hand: elves are from all times and ages.

I was so surprised to turn on the tv, this morning, and there was this older lady, who claimed she could see elves and gnomes. Only this time, together with the reporter of the tv.program the elves and the one gnome, she regularly sees, didn't show themselves. She was for a short moment wandering whether the rimples on the surface of the water were the elves or "was it the windy weather?"...

Now who of you does see elves or even gnomes, these days. Please let me know.
'Cause up till now, it was only a name to me, but after having seen this very sincere looking lady I would like to know more about my "ancestors".
So again: "what's in a name"?....

Dagdag,the horserider
