Outdoor life and "summer"

Last time, i promised you to write a little bit about the lesser nice side of "living the outdoor life".
If you live here in the Netherlands, in an apartment on the 7th floor, then you think it almost impossible to live in a place where the deer are your neighbours and friends.
Well...friends?
These deer , especially this kind you call "moose"(?), can cause nasty trouble. Or actually it is not the deer that cause the trouble, but the "tics" they do attract and take with them and then are infecting people. And just that is what happened to my granddaughter Isabella, during my last stay.
We were kind of lucky , I guess, by finding out rather quickly and taking her to the doctor within 24 hours after this happened. According to the doctor Isabella will be fine again, after having taken the doses of antibiotics- prescribed to her- with no harm done for/in the future. I hope this doctor will be right.
One more week to go and I will have Isabella, Alec, Nishat, and Pieter B, here around me.
Almost unthinkable, and I can't wait.
Last night I decided to do some shopping at one of the Ikea's in my neighbourhood and couldn't resist to buy a few things like " bed cover- duvet- small bowls, coloured forks, knives and spoons....
I got a dvd-player from Jan, my brother in law, so if the weather stays as "summery" as it is right now, I hope they can watch some nice dvd's. I'll try to find some dvd's that have the possibility to translate everything into english. Unfortunately they have not been raised bi-lingually, as was originally the "plan". Oh well, they'll cope.

I'll keep you updated about "this Ruiter-lot".

Dagdag,
the horserider
